Where to eat in Melbourne with a big group

finding restaurants for a big group can be tricky for multiple reasons. You have to pick a spot where everyone will like the food, make sure the restaurant itself is big enough, and find a reservation, just to name a few. On my most recent trip to Melbourne, we were traveling with a group of 10 and found some fabulous restaurant spots to accommodate all of us! Keep reading to find out where to eat in Melbourne with a big group to ensure you can not only get a reservation, but that your group has a great time.

Chin Chin

This asian fusion spot was awesome for a big group. You are required to do a set sharing menu with a group of a certain size, but we were able to pick exactly what we wanted so it was no problem. We loved every dish we had – A few favorites include the beef spring rolls, butter chicken curry, and the roasted pork belly. One thing I will say is that they were not good about coursing the meal, so just ask them to course the food slowly!

Tippy Tay

Tippy Tay is Such a cute italian restaurant with great food and a fun atmosphere. It’s in the heart of the cbd, but doesn’t feel like it at all as it’s tucked away in a courtyard behind the Garden State Hotel. I recommend the focaccia and Lamb Pappardelle!

Lady of St. Kilda

A cool, eclectic, Mediterranean restaurant in St. Kilda that’s perfect for a big group dinner. They have a huge menu, so everyone is sure to find something they like. their Pita + dips are a great appetizer, and the marco pollo sambousek (basically a Mediterranean calzone) was my favorite of the mains we ordered. I recommend ordering a bunch of things to share so you can try several different items! I will add that I absolutely did notttt like their falafel, so maybe stay away from that. 🙂

Taxi Kitchen

an awesome Asian / Australian fusion restaurant with cool city vibes. its location in the CBD on the Yarra River coupled with its floor to ceiling windows offers incredible views of Melbourne! it’s a super spacious restaurant too, so perfect for a big group. get the duck and lamb!
